| The area to the east of Renton Keep that is encircled by roads is Tharridon's Quarry. You enter on the east side, above the road leading off to the east, where you will see a tall blue flame tower with Guard Watts standing underneath. The quarry proper, where there is no green grass, is one of the best places in Thestra to harvest slate, tin, iron and sandstone as well as the corresponding rares and ultra rares of these materials (gneiss slab, soapstone slab, alabaster slab, star iron ore and black iron ore).
There are 10 places in the quarry proper where stone and ore spawn (5 for each), but only 4 will be occupied at any one time (2 for each). You need to keep clearing out the common materials to get the rares and ultra rares to spawn. Respawning after harvesting only takes about 2 minutes so if you can both mine and quarry you will be constantly harvesting.
There are a lot of two dot level 16 to 18 Rekk humanoid monsters all over the quarry, and more than half aggro you on sight. It is according very helpful to have an invisibility or stealth skill to work the quarry. There are a couple of quests you can get for the quarry and also two named monsters on opposite ends of the quarry that will always drop at least a blue item. It is a target rich environment that you can grind experience in while you harvest up to the low 20 levels. | Willow 21/06/2007 13:19 |
